Artist's Description
Did you know that birds pant like a dog in order to cool down?
Thatβs exactly what this Golden Eagle is doing in the heat of the sun. The tip of its tongue is just visible at the front of that hooked bill.
Of course, this birdβs razor sharp eyesight means it never rests, even when panting. Another bird of prey has entered its airspace, so itβs watching closely.
This is the largest bird of prey in Northern Ireland.
