This is one of a Peacock’s ‘eye’ feathers from it’s marvellous display. When they’re on show, they look beautiful with their iridescent colours. When you see them in macro, the details are surprising. Some portions of the feather are iridescent, while only some tips of parts are iridescent. Ant the textures aren’t what we normally associate with feathers at all!

Hi and thanks for your interest! I’m Neil and I started Blue Lens Photography UK, photography by Neil R Finlay, back in 2016 when I had been suffering from PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. After being unable to continue in my employment, I picked up a camera again and returned to my first love of Natural History.
