Description
Rich farming land endures around the Ards. The Ards is a reference to the Ards Peninsula in Co Down, Northern Ireland. The area is full of drumlins which you can notice here. The ground undulates for quite an area, including down the "arm" of the peninsula itself. The area is steeped in colourful history and well worth exploring. The name, Newtownards, comes from the Latin, meaning, New Town surrounded by Hills.
